PLI’s 2022 English Camp

Looking for a way to make a difference this summer?

Last summer we had the unique opportunity to help Prestige Learning Institute run their first English Camp for Afghan refugee children right here in Houston. It was such an amazing camp, that affected the lives of so many refugee children, that we’re doing it again this year. We’ll be teaching English, sharing biblical stories of the life of David, teaching them sports, playing games, and helping PLI build friendships that lead to conversations about Jesus with the families that participate.

We need your help to make this camp happen! There are several ways to volunteer:

There are several ways to volunteer:

• #1:  Camp Volunteers:  We need adults and teens who are willing to devote the week to work with 1st-5th grade refugee children. We’ll teach English lessons, play games, teach sports, and have a lot of fun. It runs from Monday – Thursday, 11:30am – 6:30pm, and a community dinner on Friday, 4:30pm-7pm.

• #2:  Life Group Sponsors:  We need life groups who would be willing to adopt one of our daily crafts or snacks. Our list has been updated with details on each day. Sign up, and then we’ll send you details on what your life group needs to get / put together. Then just drop it off before camp starts!

• #3:  Individual Support:  Can’t be there all week, but looking for a way to help? I have a list of special one-time needs that you can choose from to volunteer for.
