OUR PURPOSE
Mobilizing our city to welcome refugees with compassion, hope, and honor as they resettle and start a new life in Houston
houston welcomes refugees invites you to attend an interactive ONLINE ORIENTATION on April 29, 2021, 8:00 PM – 9:00 PM. This orientation is being hosted by Bethel Church of Houston but all are welcome to attend. To participate, you will need a laptop or cell phone, a pen, and one sheet of standard letter size paper (8.5”X11”). Prior to the Orientation, you will receive an email with 3 attachments: an HWR flyer, a 4×4 Grid, and a diagnostic “quiz.” If you are able to print out the quiz and the grid, please do so.
We will be using Zoom for the online meeting. We recommend that you download the Zoom app to your laptop or phone before joining the meeting. Please be prepared to use the video function. We will email out the Zoom link a couple of hours before the meeting. If you have not used Zoom before, we recommend looking through the instructions linked HERE.
The video conference will open 10 minutes prior to 8:00 PM. We recommend that you join the meeting a few minutes early to test your connection. We look forward to “seeing” you there!
We will need 10 Sign-ups to hold the orientation and the RSVP for the Orientation will close at 4 PM CST on Thursday, April 29th.
