Bethel Annual Meeting

February 1
Annual Meeting/Lunch, Sunday February 1, Fellowship Hall
Immediately following our Worship Gathering
Bethel Members are encouraged to attend.  We will be reviewing financials, approving the candidates for Deacon and Elder positions, along with a few other business items.
  • Childcare is available for ages Babies-4yrs.  Provide a lunch for your kids at drop-off.
  • Children ages 5+ should be picked up after our Worship Gathering and join you for lunch.

Candidate for Elder:

  • Michael Dalton:  Michael is a native Houstonian who became a born-again Christian in his late 20’s. He and his wife, Wendy, have been attending Bethel Church since 2007. During this time, Michael served as a Bethel Deacon for four years. Michael has a passion for Gospel focused ministries and currently sits on the board of directors for both the Forge For Families and Logos Leaders Outreach as well as the advisory board for the Houston Pregnancy Center. Michael and Wendy have two children, Bailey (24) and Park (20), who had the blessing of receiving a strong youth bible education throughout their formative years in the Bethel youth programs.

Candidates for Deacon:

Alan Harp
  • Alan Harp: Alan has attended Bethel since 1990 and met his wife, Mary Jo, in Bethel’s College and Young Careers Sunday school class.  Alan and Mary Jo raised their five kids at Bethel and Alan has been a part of the Tuesday and Sunday morning prayer teams for the past five to ten years.   They are a part of the Country Lane Life Group.
Brian Lassinger
  • Brian Lassinger: Brian began attending Bethel Church shortly after moving closer in about 2019 and then again after the COVID epidemic began to weaken.  He joined the Briar Forest Life Group area and can be seen many Sundays behind the Espresso bar serving drinks and greeting folks as they are entering church, some for the first time.  He enjoys studying God’s word and worship and looks forward to further helping the fellowship of Bethel through service as a deacon.
Garrett Scott
  • Garrett Scott: Garrett has been attending Bethel since June of 2023 and has recently been joined by his wife, Kaylee, since this past March after getting married. They actively serve on the Host Team each week and enjoy their respective Men’s and Women’s Bible Study groups.  They attend the Westheimer/Chimney Rock  Life Group and are thrilled for this opportunity to serve the larger body of Bethel.
Richard Barron
  • Richard Barron: Richard became a believer as a junior in high school. He first attended a Bethel Bible study while a senior in high school. After college, he continued at Bethel and met his wife, Beth, in the young singles group. They moved away and served as missionaries in Turkey and then in the finance office of Christar. Transitioning to retirement, the Barrons moved back to Houston and began attending Bethel in 2024. They are members of the Braeswood Life Group, have three grown sons, their wives and four grandchildren.  Richard serves on the Parks Land Team at Bethel, faithfully walking the Tanglewood Park sharing Jesus and praying with those he meets.
