Established in 1989, The Life Center is a 501c3 non-profit, faith-based organization. Their present facilities include three living areas and a separate multipurpose facility that can be used for educational classes, meetings and motivational sessions, with the ability to support the community and make a visible difference.
The Life Center operates as a 24-hour refuge for those who are in need. There is also a 90-day rehabilitation program available to those who need extensive help.
A primary objective of The Life Center is to provide temporary shelter for up to 70 of Houston’s homeless and most destitute. While at The Life Center, the homeless receive numberable services and are referred to other agencies for additional help (e.g., getting proper identification and employment) in an effort to give them the opportunity to escape the cycle of life on the streets.

If there is a poor man among your brothers in any of the towns of the land that the LORD your God is giving you, do not be hardhearted or tightfisted toward your poor brother. Rather be openhanded and freely lend him whatever he needs. Give generously to him and do so without a grudging heart; then because of this the LORD your God will bless you in all your work and in everything you put your hand to.
