The purpose of Adult Discipleship at Bethel Church is to make disciples; meaning developing women and men who love Jesus, love each other, and love the world TOGETHER. Our ultimate goal is to equip the saints that God has blessed us with to serve Houston together.
Adult Discipleship at Bethel Church builds smaller Christian communities within our larger congregation in order to strategically build relationships that shepherd needs and equip our adults to missionally serve our city.
The communities are generally subdivided by seven (7) life stages. The life stages begin with single young adults, then newly married young adults, then married adults with elementary to high school aged children, then empty nester adults, followed by mature single adults and also a general class consisting of all ages, especially senior adults. The seven different life stage ministries include an Adult Bible Fellowship (ABF) as well as a collection of Community Groups (CG). The ABF’s are larger gatherings which emphasize teaching, while the CG’s are smaller gatherings which emphasize relational community. Both gatherings focus upon shepherding inward needs, fostering discipleship, assimilating new people, strategically serving together, and developing new leaders.
The Adult Bible Fellowships meet on Sunday mornings in the Christian Education Building from 9:30 - 10:25 am. To learn more, click on one of the corresponding emblems on the right-hand side.
